Sanchez Takes Gold In Rio

Our man Matt Sanchez just returned from Brazil where he recently took gold at the Rio International Grappling Open. Matt Sanchez is the 62kg representative of the US National Team, and he was able to run his division in Rio with an aggressive and highly technical style. Matt defeated several talented black belts en route to the gold medal.

Matt is an FDM sponsored athlete, and a good friend of the company. Following a very successful wrestling career at Cal State Bakersfield Matt made the move to Sacramento to train with Urijah Faber's team at Ultimate Fitness. Matt has transitioned beautifully to submission grappling, winning several prestigious tournaments and quickly earning a place on the US National Team. With such a strong foundation and a tough camp to support him, we're looking for Matt to make a successful transition to MMA very soon. Keep an eye out for our man in the Bantamweight division.
